Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We had lunch at this restaurant today, and it was wonderful. Great service, good cold beer with icy mugs, and excellent food. We had Tostadas de Ceviche with shrimp, and it was beautifully served as well as delightfully yummy. The salsa was freshly made and delicious and the other sauce for chips was good too, although I don't know what it was. We are visiting the area and just happened to stop at this restaurant. Great find.

For our second lunch in Santa Fe, we continued to try not to gain ten pounds on this trip by having some seafood. We have driven past Costa Azul so many times that we decided to give it a try. We were made to feel welcome by everyone there. The décor is classic, brightly colored almost clichéd Mexico. I really did eat in places decorated this way in Sinaloa. The chips come with some typical oniony salsa Mexicana and an avocado sauce that we liked a lot (well aside from the diced onion in it). It is creamy and thin with diced jalapeno and tomato. We have already made it since returning home. They also have Huichol and Valentina on the tables, my kind of place. My Tacos al Patron came with very plain white rice and thin frijoles. The rice is not worth bothering with, but the beans were fine. The tacos comprised carne asada, small camarones, a little tocino and a slice of avocado (see the photo) on slightly sweet, soft white corn tortillas. These were great and although the shrimp don't contribute real Sea of Cortez flavor, they were seasoned well. The steak was good and the bacon was not overdone to overwhelm the other flavors. I used the thin avocado sauce on these and enjoyed every bite. I would order these again. Ms T ordered tacos de camarones and they were very similar, without the beef and bacon. She liked them very much. We wanted to eat light and could have accomplished that goal if we had not snarfed down all four tacos on our respective plates. Costa Azul has a large seafood focused menu, true to its name. You could dine here a long time and not test the full menu. I hope I get a chance to go back and try some more. It goes way beyond tilapia tacos here.

Web menu says "red snapper" they served tasteless Tilapia. :( Ordered Filete Marinero. ref: mariscoscostaazul.com/Me… Filete Marinero Relleno con queso, camaron, pulpo y callo de acha Red Snapper fillet stuffed with scallops, shrimp and octopus, cheese wrapped oven-baked Two overcooked shrimp, a teaspoon of octopus cubed, no cheese and a very thin tilapia filet. Fries were cold. Rice was cold and no flavor (plain white rice, nothing to see here, keep it moving). Server was friendly but not helpful. They didn't care that items were cold and took no actions or apologized. NOT worth the money or the time. Will NOT return.

I ha takeout of a shrimp coctele. Service was fast and the two women working there were pleasant and efficient. It was around $12 and packed well, with chips, saltines, tapatio packets, salt, lime wedges, and 2 types of salsas. Cocktail was really tasty, albeit the shrimp was kinda overcooked. Overall, I was happy.

My favorite place to eat Mexican seafood in Santa Fe. I love the decor of the restaurant, with bright, cheerful colors with Mexican music playing in the background. The restaurant is very clean. The service is amazing! And awesome complimentary chips, creamy guac and salsa. Their menu features many classic Mexican dishes. I usually always order the sampler, because I can't settle for just one thing. And it is always awesome. The food is tasty. They have a great selection of Mexican and American beers and they are served in a cold mug if you prefer. Their prices are very reasonable, so you'll not break the bank if you go eat here. Highly recommended!

Great service and decor. Very efficient server and speedy food prep. The food is amazing. I live in Santa Fe and have been going for months. It's nice to get free chips and salsa. Also, I have had chicken, beef and seafood here they are all prepared by a skilled chef. The food is moderately priced, not many things over 20 dollars.

Good family Mexican restaurant. Service was good and the chips and salsa with this creamy avocado sauce too was solid. Food was amazing; and also not too heavy and their shrimp was perfectly cooked. Loved their tomato sauce as well!!
